This is Primetime's Frequently Asked Question list (FAQ). It attempts to answer some of the most frequently asked questions relating to the International Media Marketing w.r.t reach, programming and Support

Reach / Distribution

Can you offer me separate package for Canada?
Yes. SET Asia is the only channel to have a 24 hr dedicated feed in the Canada market. SET Asia was launched in Canada in November 2008. Currently in over 50,000 households and increasing! It is currently available on Rogers Cable, Bell Express Vu, Telus TV and Shaw Cable; extending our reach across the country. This helps advertisers to reach out to their TG audiences specific to Canada at a much reasonable cost.(They would need to buy the U.S feed which would reach Canada too)

What are the benefits of taking an international package?
For an advertiser seeking to address multiple markets, it makes more sense to go for an International Beam (SET Asia International feed – covering U.S, UK, Middle East, Africa, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Fiji , Caribbean Islands) rather than take different markets individually as this works out to be more cost effective. Again, it saves the advertiser the hassle and cost of creating multiple commercials. It covers markets like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa & S.Africa, which otherwise is not available for advertising independently. No other network offers the International package.

Programming by Market

Why choose to advertise on Sony Network?

Real Time Airing
The first network to air shows in Real Time.
e.g. – Indian Idol , Saturday – 9.00 pm in India will be aired on Saturday – 9.00 pm in US in both East Coast and West Coast (Auto Time Correction technology used). This is same with all other regions like UK, Europe, Middle East, Canada, Africa where the programming is aired on real time basis.

Dedicated Beams
Five dedicated beams to provide quality entertainment at local timings

International Feed
Sony Network is the only network to have an International feed for SET Asia and MAX Asia which covers all major NRI regions such as US & Canada, UK, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Caribbean Islands. With the International feed, our advertisers can reach all these countries at one go with one advertisement

Connectivity
Collectively entertaining approximately 1.1 million South Asians households (we use the term “household” as a common denomination to measure the reach across all the countries. This is due to the variation in the size of a family from country to country) . Available on all major platforms via cable & DTH

What are the current localised programmes?
Set Asia is unique among the slew of Hindi general entertainment channels in the international markets to offer localized content.
Sony Entertainment Television currently broadcasts the following South Asian shows :-

Biz Week Asia (International feed)
Zone (International feed)
Dateline Punjab (International feed)
High Life Dubai (Middle East)
Chicks on Flicks (International feed)
Simply Health (International feed)
Eating Out (Middle East)

Are the Indian FPC & overseas FPC same?
Largely. Only in some cases when local events are telecast or locally produced programmes like the Biz Week Asia are aired is the FPC different. Of course, the timings of the various programmes are adjusted to suit the viewer preferences in the individual markets.

  After Sales Support

How do I measure effectiveness / impact of my campaign in the absence of any viewership data?
Viewership data for SET and other channels on a DTH or a cable platform is not tracked. In the absence of viewership data to plan and benchmark GRPs and audience deliveries, advertisers can go in for some interesting contests or feedback linked advertising through which they can measure response levels to their advertising. This can be worked out on a case-to-case basis.

However in Middle East, we have subscribed to IPSOS reports which give viewership ratings to South Asian channels in Middle East on a monthly basis. This helps advertisers to plan their media spends accordingly.
